Description
The volunteers will help at the nursery garden for autochthonous plants "Es Viver - Plantes de Menorca", a not-for-profit plant nursery specializing in local plant varieties and sustainable gardening to reduce resource use on the island. Different tasks and activities are carried out depending on the time of year. You will be part of a part of a dedicated team with regular volunteers giving a helping hand. Work will be based in the nursery grounds located on the outskirts of Mahon. There will be times when the team will work in private and public gardens in other areas of the island carrying out maintenance or designing and planting gardens, depending on the services and contracts in place. Tasks include watering, weeding, cleaning pathways, propagating plants, transplanting, landscaping, creating green filters “wastewater gardens”, assisting visitors and workshops, creating content for Es Viver’s social media channels, assist in delivering sustainability workshops, etc.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will be provided with shared accommodation with another CES volunteer near the plant nursery. You will be provided with a bicycle and can apply for a bus pass if you wish. You will receive a monthly living allowance to cover your living and food expenses.

Additionally, GOB runs several workshops and training opportunities on environmental matters which are open to attend.
