Job chances for all: Volunteering with unemployed youth

Verein zur Förderung der Jugend-, Integrations- und Gemeinwesenarbeit

BETA - Volkshilfe Tirol

Wörgl, Austria

Description

BETA helps young people aged 15 to 25 to gain employment. Many of the young people who come to BETA have learning difficulties and struggle to find work. BETA employs around 11 young people for a one-year period, during which they can learn and acquire job qualifications to prepare them for future employment. The program teaches soft and hard skills through five focus areas: Green Care, IT & Communication, Office & Administration, Wood & Creative Workshop, and Knowledge Workshop. Additionally, the program provides job application training for the participants.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will stay in a private, fully furnished studio apartment in the host organisation's building in the city centre. You are responsible for grocery shopping and cooking for yourself. You will receive a monthly food allowance (€250) in addition to your pocket money (€180). The travel to Austria and back to your country after the project is covered by the European Solidarity Corps funding.

Training during the activity

* German language course * On-arrival training and Mid-term meeting in Austria * Personal mentoring

Participant profile
