Volunteering at a Kindergarten at the German-Polish Border

Description

Within this activity we will host 4 volunteers in two different kindergartens in Frankfurt (Oder). The volunteers will support the ongoing work in the kindergarten. The volunteer will get enabled to prepare own activities for the children. Volunteers will get to know the different working areas and concepts within the kindergarten. The main topics are participation and internationalisation. Therefore the volunteers will also be encouraged to bring experiences from their own countries and cultures into the work.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will be accommodated in a single room with shared bathroom and kitchen. The accommodation will be rented upon knowing the volunteers and their needs. Together with the pocket money the volunteer will receive monetary value for free meals paid in cash if the meals are not provided in one of our institutions. The monetary value is currently maximum 246,00 EUR monthly. The monetary value for free meals is calculated each month. All volunteers receive a monthly ticket for the local transportation within Frankfurt (Oder).

Training during the activity

Volunteers will participate in the obilgated On-Arrival Training and Mid-Term-Meeting. Besides that there will be an orientation after arrival. One language course for German language will be financed for the volunteer upon request. Volunteers have the chance to take part in other training opportunities that are related to the current tasks. We are open to support each volunteers interests and try to provide opportunities.

Participant profile

Volunteers should be motivated to work with children. They need to be able to lead small activties for kids, therefore it is important to be creative, flexible and adaptable. Volunteers should have a first knowledge of German language. They should be able to work in a team. Further, they should be motivated to learn about German culture and language, learn and gain new experiences and skills. Proof of measles vaccination is mandatory.
