ASOCIACION LAS NINAS DEL TUL

Asociación Las Niñas del Tul

Íllora, Spain

Description

Las Niñas del Tul has spent years developing cultural activities in the province of Granada during the summers as a tool for inclusion and information for youth. Hence the idea of taking another step and enabling young people from different countries to participate in these activities, showing their cultures and traditions. The main objectives that we set are the following: • to promote active participation and youth mobility, especially of young people with profiles of social inclusion. • to foster mutual understanding between young people from different realities, thus broadening the scope of knowledge of local youth about European citizenship, getting to know other cultures. • to provide an experience of intercultural and international learning, especially to young people with fewer opportunities. Volunteers will organize activities related to folklore, mainly traditional dances from their countries, and will support the folk music festival ParapandaFolk.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The accommodation will be in a public building prepared for that (kind of a hostel). The bedroom will be shared with 3 or 4 people. The bathrooms are shared. The food will be collective, with the group itself in charge (each participant will receive money to organize their food). The facilities have strict rules of use regarding permitted activities, etc. To get to the venue, there is public transport from the city of Granada. Travel reimbursement will be according to the rules of the European Solidarity Corps program, based on the results of the distance calculator.

Training during the activity

Participants do not need to have specific skills beyond being able to teach traditional dances from their countries in a basic way. Everything else they need to know they will learn during the activity. IF YOU WANT TO APPLY, FULFILL THIS APPLICATION FORM: https://forms.gle/zYmC4jeuk5eM32SGA

Participant profile

12 young peoples (18-30 y.o.) from different countries with diverse profiles, including some people with fewer opportunities. In this project we are looking for young people interested in traditions and folk. Eager to do cultural and educational activities with children, youth and adults. Removing this, they do not need to have any previous experience or special capacity. But it does require motivation to live this experience, to learn, contribute, willing to cooperate, flexibility and initiative. We will do the selection of volunteers at the end of May 2024.
