Are you interested in Climate Action and campaigning against fossil fuels? Would you like to experience Irish culture and life in rural Ireland? Do you want to improve your skills and your chances of future employment? If YES, this project is for YOU! Volunteers in the Youth Climate Action project are involved in many different activities. > Awareness workshops in schools > Climate and Biodiversity Activities, e.g. Field trips, attending climate action demonstrations, organising events > Publicity - social media posts, blogs and website > Cultural activities, supporting local community events and advanced English training (For more information, see our website: goodenergiesalliance.ie) We are looking for active young people in their twenties, with at least B1 English level. We are accepting applications NOW. Projects ends December 2025. WHERE? Co Leitrim, Ireland, a beautiful and interesting place to live!

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Excellent facilities, house with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, shared kitchen and living area. Adequate food allowance and pocket money provided. Travel to and from Ireland is funded. The area is very rural, accommodation is in a little village. We provide a car and fuel allowance. Volunteers are encouraged to be self-sufficient, to participate in local cultural events and to travel throughout Ireland - possible despite the changeable weather!

Training during the activity

The following training will provided for all volunteers: Induction training. On-arrival and mid-way training (Leargas). Training in Introduction to First Aid, Child Protection training, Social Media training. On-line language training - Erasmus+ or other. Time given within office hours for this training. Other non-formal training as required or requested by the volunteer Advice regarding CV writing and interview tips and tricks. Volunteers will attend conferences, seminars or workshops as desired and available.

Participant profile

We are looking for young people in their twenties interested in the environment and climate action, willing to participate in many different types of activities. These range from social media to biodiversity field trips, from research to campaigning, from working with local students to organising community events. Desirable qualities: - Experience in social media platforms - Writing articles, posts, and press releases (we will train you!) - Happy to assist in management of our organisation and project - Self-sufficient, happy to live and share with others, team player.
