Description

Philanthropy is performing emergency and development programs since 1991. It has been implementing development programs targeting marginalized and vulnerable social groups, providing psycho-social support, social services, educational programs for unemployed, economic empowerment, agricultural development, and local communities’ capacity building programs. You will provide professional (social welfare, art, occupational or other) support in the Shelter for Homeless Persons in Kragujevac. Some of your tasks will be connected to the participation in the community events of prevention of homelessness and distribution of food and hygiene kits, as well as CVA , for persons at risk of homelessness. You will also participate in assessing homeless risks in targeted communities. You will also closely collaborate with stakeholders such as Red Cross and Center for Social Welfare and therefore promote Philanthropy’s quality standards in delivering services.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Philanthropy will be in charge of the budget for accommodation and utilities and will help you to find suitable apartment in Kragujevac, near the office. You may share the accommodation with other volunteer in case of overlapping of volunteering projects (always with secure, lockable room). You will pay for your food costs and transportation from the monthly allowance of 470 EUR. Kragujevac is a relatively small town so you can conduct your daily tasks by walking, but there is a local transportation available as well. Interviews will take place continuously with aim to start deployment ASAP.

Training during the activity

Apart of mandatory Code of Conduct orientation and Safeguarding Children and vulnerable adults training, Philanthropy can provide training on the Project cycle management and Monitoring and Evaluation to enable better understanding of programming and conducting activities. You will be offered to participate in other Philanthropy’s capacity building activities, as feasible.

Participant profile

We are looking for someone adoptive to cultural sensitivities and changes in context that come with humanitarian and development work. It is expected that you accept zero tolerance policy for any type of discrimination. You need to be responsible and strictly adhere with Philanthropy’s Code of Conduct and other mandatory policies, especially Safeguarding Policy, Antidiscrimination Policy and Data Protection Policy. We prefer volunteers, who are communicative and open to new situations. We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds and abilities to apply, so do not hesitate to sign up.
