Description

The main objective of l'Ecole de Cirque de Bruxelles is to allow each and everyone to progress, to blossom and to strengthen their autonomy thanks to circus arts… Whether they are young or old, amateur or professional, everyone is welcome to our school, a real microcosm of modern urban society. At l'Ecole de Cirque de Bruxelles, we have developped our own specific pedagogy, that is based on six main values : creativity, learning, pleasure, engagement, personal development and respect. The main fields of activity of the school are the following: Circus Arts Academy (Weekly classes), Professional Trainings, Social Projects (for people and children with functional diversity or fewer opportunities), performing groups, international activities… The volunteers working with us at l'Ecole de Cirque de Bruxelles will be a part of the team, helping during events and circus projects.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

According to the program rules, your rent will be paid directly by us and we will give you a monthly allowance to cover your food and transport fees, as well as some pocket money.

Training during the activity

The volunteers will be supported by their mentor for all practical and well being aspects, and by a reference person for all the activities of the circus school they will be involved in. For their own personal development and in the frame of our circus lessons dedicated to adults, we also encourage the volunteers, if they wish, to discover our pedagogy by following one or several circus techniques. This experience which will allow them to feel all the benefits of this practice on their social and personal development.

Participant profile

We are looking for volunteers who have experience and/or motivation to explore the socio-cultural sector. Previous experience in the cultural field is appreciated as well as speaking french enough to be able to communicate with the team. To integrate our team, it’s important to be open-minded, share our values, willing to work in a team, to have a great sense of adaptability, and an interest in our circus projects.
