Περιγραφή της δραστηριότητας

Volunteering project “Dry stone wall extravaganza 4-5” aims to promote Archaeological site Colentum as a valuable part of Europe’s cultural heritage. Project will take place in Murter (Murter Island, Croatia) during one-month period (Autumn and Spring Service). The objective of the project is to improve knowledge and raise awareness about values of cultural/archaeological heritage as common European value and its potential in terms of sustainable development of rural communities. The fifteen young participants (15 in Autumn Service, 15 in Spring Service) from Spain, Italy, Poland, Turkey and Bulgaria will help hosting organization in renewing dry stone walls surrounding the site. Volunteers will use their creativity and the knowledge about history of Colentum they'll get during this month to add content and improve Strategic Action Plan for development of Colentum.

Διαμονή, διατροφή και έξοδα μετακίνησης

Travel, accommodation and transport costs will be covered. Volunteers will be accommodated in the house in Murter. House has 3 big apartments and each apartment will accommodate 5 people. Sheets/blankets are already in the house. There is a Wi-Fi connection in the house and supermarket very close to the house. We will give you food money each week for the previous week. Volunteers will cook for themselves. The whole amount of pocket money volunteers will receive at the beginning of the service. Travel costs will be covered in the amount of 275 EUR for returning ticket.

Κατάρτιση κατά τη δραστηριότητα

Volunteers will participate in all tasks of the project that is about protection of the archeological site Colentum. Volunteers will also learn about Youthpass and possibilities within Erasmus+ programme. There will be organized a celebration of the European day of languages where all our participants will participate.

Our volunteer candidates should have the following background and needs: - high motivation for participation in the most of the proposed activities of the placement - knowledge of basic English - willing to improve/develop communication skills - interest and enthusiasm in working with children and youngsters - interest and enthusiasm in acquiring different new skills - interest and enthusiasm in nature and environment issues -interest and enthusiasm in creating media materials - interest and enthusiasm in culture and heritage - flexible and creative character
