The Human Rights Cafe is a space for volunteers and young people to become active global and European citizens by transforming issues of local and global importance to concrete action and change-making. For 7 months in Helsingør, Denmark, two young volunteers will become a part of the multicultural community and co-create the Human Rigths cafe- a space to gain work experience in the fields of youth work, active citizenship and non formal education, environment and climate change, event making, facilitation and conducting workshops on human rights, global citizenship, intercultural communication and lifelong learning. They will explore their passions, share their skills and thoughs with over 100 people from the whole world. The goal of the project is to supprt the local community in creating opportunities for everybody to feel included and heard. In the same time we want to give a space and support to the volunteers to experiment, learn, grow and make life lasting friendships.

Alloggio, vitto e trasporto

Our main associated local partner - International Peoples College (IPC) is a community-based institution which aim is to educate adults in a non-formal way to broaden their horizons, promote intercultural dialog and create open-minded and active citizens of the world. Our volunteers will live on the school campus and will be allowed to use school facilities, and get all the meals at the school. Accommodation and food costs are covered by the ESC fund. Volunteers will arrange for their own transport to the project venue and be reimbursed according to the program rules.

Formazione durante l'attività

-inter cultural experience for volunteers, and local community -activating young people -project planning, implementation, and evaluation, -teamwork in the multicultural environment, -promotion of Human rights and respect -raising awareness about environmental challenges -Danish culture and customs -trainig in the basic technical support for multimedia events

Profilo del partecipante

Desired volunteers for this projects are young, motivated people, who are looking for a space to develop their interest in field of intercultural education, non-formal learning methods, community building and human rights. They should be motivated to work with and for the community, be ready for challenges, and living in the community. We are open for volunteers with every societal background and challenge. The project is run in English as a main language.
