The power of together

Results of the Photo Contest - September 2020 (working with children / young people)

Photo of the month
Esra from Turkey I live in Ağrı and there is an orphanage right next to my house. I always wanted to go there and attend the youth center activities. I was very happy when I became a clown in the orphanage because those children deserve to be happy. I played games with them all day long. A few of the kids among them did not join in the games because they were ashamed. Especially one little girl was very shy. When I approached her to find out, which game she wanted to play, she said she wanted to play the balloon game with me. She also confessed that she had never seen a clown before. At the end of the game, she was very happy. Her happiness touched me even more because I saw that she was very happy playing with me and lost her shyness for a moment. My friend took the picture of this beautiful instance. It is the most beautiful photo I have.

Omar from Spain I am so happy to have participated in the art lab 2.0 project in Romania, my fellow artists and I have had a unique and unforgettable experience. We visited the towns of the province of Iasi, Suceava and Targu Neamt to do art workshops (music, photography, cinema, and ceramics). It were magical moments where you learn from children and know that you contribute with the culture of the place. We have created artistic content; we have met local artists and documented the art that you make. I will not forget this artistic experience of the European Solidarity Corps.

Diana from Ukraine Watching kids playing together and enjoying the activities that volunteers prepared for them was magnificent. The children made the butterfly masks during the art lesson and then they just wanted to play on the playground, wearing their beautiful masks. I am happy that I took part in so many events, which occurred in our center in Bormla in Malta. So many situations happened, that even to remember them now is a pleasure for me.
