organizācijas apraksts:

Development Perspectives (DP) is an Irish NGO which specialises in Development Education in the non-formal sector. Our vision is to live in an equitable, just and sustainable world. The mission of DP is to contribute to lessening poverty, inequality and climate change through transformative education and active global citizenship. Development Perspectives supports Irish citizens in accessing quality learning opportunities with multi-faceted educational approaches in the Development Arena. The aim and role of Development Education practitioners is to facilitate robust, accessible and engaging opportunities for the public to learn and act as global citizens.

Five goals were identified in Development Perspectives strategic plan 2019 – 2023.
1. To have an informed, active and inclusive citizenry that is tackling the root causes of poverty, inequality and climate change.
2. To recognise the importance and relevance of Development Education in contributing to a more just, equitable and sustainable world.
3. Organisational scale, capacity and income (Governance / Financial / Human Resources) is increased and deepened.
4. To work collaboratively with a diverse set of partners (Locally / Nationally / Internationally) that share our vision in order to maximise reach, impact and influence.
5. DP will maximise the impact of its work in Ireland and internationally through ongoing reflection, evaluation, learning and innovation.

DP was established as a project in 2006 and an organisation in 2009. During that time we have worked with adults especially in the non-formal education field from across the world. DP has established partnerships with organisations in Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Liberia, India, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. These partnerships address development issues such as Poverty, Inequality, Conflict, Climate Change and Hunger through education. As a result of this experience, we have built strong competencies in adult educational approaches, experiential learning, reflective
practice and problem-based learning. This expertise allied to our skills at intercultural learning ensures we have much to offer this proposed strategic partnership. We have led international summer schools, Global Leadership Training cycles and have strong connections in the field of International Development, Human Rights and Global Citizenship Education. Our main
activity each year is called “Insight”. Insight is a non-formal educational programme for adults from Ireland and from our partners in Global South Countries. Insight will cater for 50 people in 2016 over an eight-month cycle in India, Tanzania and Ireland.

Šai organizācijai ir piešķirta Eiropas Solidaritātes korpusa kvalitātes zīme. Kvalitātes zīme apliecina, ka organizācija spēj īstenot projektus saskaņā ar Eiropas Solidaritātes korpusa principiem un mērķiem.
