Project description

We are seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to support our work with people with learning difficulties. The role will include some or all of the following: - range of community opportunities where volunteers will encourage participants to engage in a range of activities which may include arts and crafts, sports and games, workshops, and supporting participant volunteering - training mentoring to support participants in our Training Programme on a one to one basis, as well as within a group, encouraging participation and discussion - support our employment team and participants by providing them with one to one support and guidance while they are on their work and voluntary placements and skills group - support parents with a learning disability by volunteering at our groups, day trips and events

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Erasmus+ Volunteering in NOW Group is coordinated by Bryson Charitable Group and the E+ volunteer will live in shared accommodation with Bryson E+ volunteers based in other projects. The volunteers each have their own bedroom and share kitchen, living space and bathroom. The houses are in South and East Belfast. The volunteer will receive a weekly allowance to cover food and volunteer allowance. The volunteer will travel between accommodation and the project by bus and local transport costs will be met by the project.

Training during the project

The volunteer will receive a 1-2 day induction and orientation training on arrival in Belfast, before going to NOW Group. There will be training in relevant policies and procedures in the project, including safeguarding vulnerable adults training, first aid, disability awareness and managing behaviour. There may be the possibility for the volunteer to attend other relevant training during the Erasmus+ placement.

• Volunteers MUST be from one of the countries listed on the right - we are unable to consider volunteers from any other country.
