Join Europe through the Lens of its Young Citizens Event!

Última actualización Lunes, 02/05/2022

What is Europe? What should Europe be? Lots of different answers and opinions come from these questions and we want to hear them all!

On the eve of the 72nd anniversary of the Schuman Declaration (9 May, 1950), the House of European History and Professor Timothy Garton Ash team up to explore how young Europeans view their continent.

This two-days event will take place on 7-8 May and is part of the House of European History’s series Through the lens of…, a series of learning events organised by the museum approximately every two months, and where participants can explore widely diverse subjects linked to the continent’s history.

7 May – Europe’s Stories

On 7 May, the findings of Europe's Stories project will be shown at the House of European History via video interviews. The research project consisted of four rounds of EU-wide public opinion polling in which nearly 200 Europeans spoke about their formative, best and worst, European moments.

Interested? The event is completely free and will be running from 10:00 to 18:00! All visitors are welcomed to contribute with their own testimonies on the day.

8 May – Panel debates and roundtable discussion

On 8 May, Prof. Garton Ash and six young European academics will come together to discuss the social and democratic processes and phenomena in contemporary Europe.

Would you like to take part? Join in-person at the House of European History, or online via a live stream on the House of European History's YouTube channel, and leave your own testimonies on Europe!

The event starts at 11:00 and to participate, you need to register in advance.
