'Alternative Copenhagen' - DiscoverEU meet-up

Want to experience an alternative part of beautiful Copenhagen? Meet other DiscoverEU travellers and local Danes? Let’s meet up!

The day includes a citywalk of ‘alternative Copenhagen’, a sea clean-up in kayaks, and community dinner with locals at the church-turned-into-community house Absalon. So find your camera, your best walking shoes and join us for an alternative day in Copenhagen.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner and one-night’s accommodation in Globalhagen Hostel is included. And it’s all for free for DiscoverEU participants:-).

PROGRAMME (may be subject to minor changes)

JULY 31
Afternoon: Check-in at Globalhagen Hostel on your own. Accomodation for the night is included, but the meet-up does not start not until the day after.
Many cafés nearby offer cheap food in a cozy atmosphere (not included).

AUGUST 1

(All activities, transport between these, three meals and one drink is included in the meet up)

9:00-9:30: Shared breakfast for all participants in the DiscoverEU meet up at Café Mellemrummet/Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke close to the hostel

9:30-10:00: Introduction to the day and icebreaker activity

10:00-1:00 PM: Alternative city walk at Nørrebro, Copenhagen. Get to know the city’s exciting history full of activism and global citizenship in this multicultural and creative part of Copenhagen! Lunch on the way

1:30-2:00 PM: Transport by bus/metro to Green Kayak

2:00-5:00 PM: Sea clean-up. Go kayaking in the Copenhagen canals - have fun while helping the environment by picking up trash from the water. You can also participate in the clean-up from the shore. Green kayak is hosting this awesome activity!

5:00-5:30 PM: Transport by bus/metro to Absalon

6:00-7:00 PM: Community dinner and one drink at Absalon culture house. Vegetarian option available.

Feel free to stay and hang out at Absalon until closing time or hop on the train and continue your DiscoverEu travel. So thank you for a nice day, and bye bye:-)
