Oslo's cosiest music festival? Come volunteer and get 3 nights of free accommodation and food!
Join us at Piknik i Parken (PiPfest) in Sofienbergparken in the hippest area of Oslo; Grünerløkka. Great music, good vibes and a lot of fun. Piknik i Parken, or Picnic in the park, is all about creating an inclusive and “koselig” atmosphere that makes you forget that you are in the middle of the city with all the facilities you need just some steps away. The great feeling of enjoying a picnic in a park, but with great music and other activities with old and new friends.
As a volunteer you get the chance to feel that you are part of our team, with the aim to put smiles on the other faces and create good memories. This is a great opportunity to get to know new people and friends. You will get accommodated at Haraldsheim hostel for three nights, and food is also covered (there and at PiPfest when you are volunteering).
At the top of the festival poster are names such as alt-J, Nas, The 1975, Phoenix, Maggie Rogers, Tove Lo, Ben Howard, The Cardigans and Veronica Maggio, but it is not only the music that is in focus when the small, but still large Oslo festival gets going: This year you can experience far more than seeing your favorite artists on stage. The festival is known for filling the park with courses in bubbles and flower wreaths, food, silent disco, art and a great shopping street. The music is the core of Piknik i Parken, but the festival wants to give the audience a total experience that goes beyond the musical and creates, together with a wide range of partners, a separate PiPfest universe.
The volunteer tasks vary from simple bar work, audience hosting, ticket booth or keeping the park clean and audience happy. You can work one day and get to days at the festival as an audience or work shorter shifts to days, or work the whole time, it’s up to you!
The festival area opens at 16:00 on Thursday June 15th, and ends on Saturday night at 23:00. Discover EU travelers will get free accommodation at the youth hostel in Oslo Wednesday June 14th to Saturday June 17th.
If you arrive in Oslo Wednesday 14.06 you are invited and honored guests to a free welcoming dinner. The meet up will be with other travelers and local youth, PiPfest’s staff and hosts from the Erasmus+ programme. It will take place just by Sofienberg park, so you also can see the festival come into place before it’s filled with an audience. We are looking forward to get to know you!
Are you traveling with a friend who did not win a DiscoverEU travel pass? They are welcome to this meet-up too. Note that we only have 14 spaces, so be quick to sign up!
