Online facilitated dialogue activities offer opportunities for young people to connect together in safe online spaces. Participants will discuss current issues that matter to them and develop a better understanding of each other. At the same time, young people build meaningful relationships across borders and cultures, and practise important employability skills such as; critical thinking, cross-cultural communication, team-work and media literacy.

The Connect Programme is designed to be integrated into an existing university curriculum or offered as an independent study. It uses a unique online facilitated dialogue model that connects young people globally. Universities and institutions working with young people between 18 and 30 are encouraged to apply.

With successful programme completion, participants receive an Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange Open Badge and a certificate of completion that enriches resumes. 

The programme is available in 4 different modules:

• Connect Global enhances communication skills and improves attitudes toward difference through discussions framed around current social challenges and world events. The programme brings together participants from myriad disciplines, including but not limited to the humanities, sciences, engineering, and business.

Specialised Track: Connect Global – Foreign Affairs employs the same curricular module and is tailored for those interested in exploring the perceived cultural fault line between the West and the Southern Mediterranean world through political, social, and personal values-based discussions.                

Approximate length of course: 8 weeks

Approximate weekly commitment: 2 hours 

• Connect Collaborate hones team-building skills through project based learning activities. Emphasising the practical application of lessons, participants are guided through a group exercise, such as an online awareness campaign, developed to address a topic of current relevance and interest.

Approximate length of course: 5 weeks

Approximate weekly commitment: 2 hours

• Connect Express encourages thoughtful discourse in a digital society and explores how identity constructs and assumed archetypes influence engagement across cultural and continental divides. It is presented as an option for those participants or courses with greater time constraints.
