The Impact of Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange

Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange is a pilot project that aims to expand the reach and scope of the Erasmus+ programme through virtual exchanges, which are technology-enabled people-to-people dialogues sustained over a period of time. It will provide an accessible, innovative way for youth in Europe and the Southern Mediterranean to engage in meaningful intercultural experiences online, as part of their formal or non-formal education.

We are continuously monitoring and evaluating the quality and impact of our Virtual Exchanges. This is done through a combination of tools, like surveys, interviews and focus groups. The information that is gathered gives a very positive first view on the impact of the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange activities in the first half year of this project; Overall the experience of Virtual Exchange has been overwhelmingly positive for participants who completed the activities.

Have a look at  our Impact Page for an overview of interesting facts and figures about the impact of Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange.

A more detailed look into the participation, reach and impact of the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange activities run in the first six months of this year can be found in the Preliminary Impact Review. This report  is intended for educators, youth workers, policy-makers and researchers interested in understanding the value of Virtual Exchange, and in particular how it contributes to the development of tangible skills and positive attitudinal changes.
