Join the upcoming Debate Exchange activity! The Team Leader Trainig in French will take place on 26 October 2019. 

What is it about?

Debate Exchanges bring together young people from diverse backgrounds and students from higher education to meet online and debate topics of their choice, with the support of a regional resource network of trained team leaders. The training will focus on a parliamentary model of public debate.

Participants are first taught to listen, understand, and absorb what others in the group are saying before responding to the messages being relayed. The objective of this activity is to enhance young people's debate skills, such as: building arguments, active listening & rebuttal, organisation of speeches and the use of a specific format for debating.

Besides enhancing their elocution skills, participants will also have the chance to practice foreign languages. While actively participating in oral performances, participants learn to intelligently put their language competences into meaningful use. 

Debate Team Leader Training

The Team Leader Training programme provides participants with an understanding of the Virtual Exchange methodology while also drawing on the vast debate experience of the Southern Mediterranean region. Its aim is to support the development of debate clubs in European and the Southern Mediterranen and enhance the online debate programme community.

Online Debates

Online debates encourage intercultural teams to work together and debate about relevant topics across the Euro-Med region. Participants will develop critical thinking skills and explore subjects that can lead to advocacy impact by taking part in debate training, online facilitated dialogue and put their learning to instant use in an online debate.
