Youth Policy Dialogue: European Sport Model

From: To: [CET] Central European Time

Commissioner Glenn Micallef will hold a Youth Policy Dialogue with 25 young people as part of the consultation process to prepare the future Commission’s Communication «A Strategic Vision for Sport in Europe: Reinforcing the European Sport Model», which will be adopted at the end of 2026. The Strategy will reaffirm a values-based model of sport, promoting a unique sport culture and heathy lifestyles, so that all EU citizens, across all generations and particularly young people, can enjoy numerous benefits of sport.

The Youth Policy Dialogue will take place at the Stadium of Union St Gilloise football club and will aim to:

  • gather views of young people on priorities to address in future Commission’s Communication on “A Strategic Vision for Sport in Europe: Reinforcing the European Sport Model”
  • understand challenges faced by young people regarding sport in their context, as a hobby at grassroot level, as sport students or professionals, as athletes or para-athletes, and discuss on possible solutions to be undertaken at EU level.
