Grant opportunity for ambitious cross-border youth media projects!

Last updated on Thursday, 09/01/2025

Youth organisations, non-profits and news media producers, this one’s for you! Team up with other organisations across the EU to form the dream team and apply by 24 March 2025.

The EU wants to support independent, cross-border journalism for young Europeans.

What’s the plan? Following the open call for proposals "A new online media offer for young Europeans", the EU will support up to 4 outstanding proposals with ambitious projects that…

  • Deliver and share daily, thought-provoking, and trustworthy online info,
  • Cover topics that hit close to home, with a European cross-border twist,
  • Use engaging formats and explore diverse points of view,
  • Presented in numerous languages,
  • With editorial independence.

Youth organisations are also eligible to this funding opportunity, as long as the consortium has a solid journalistic process in place. You'll be teaming up with at least four other organisations to cover at least five EU Member States and five European languages. From the kick-off of projects in automn 2025, it will be 12 to 14 months of action. The available budget totals EUR 9 million for up to 4 selected projects.

If you want a piece of the cake, get ready to apply!

Check out the information and eligibility criteria and apply by 24 March.

Got questions? Send your questions over to CNECT-NEWSMEDIA@ec.europa.eu before 17 March. We'll drop all the answers on the call’s page, no names attached.
