Have your say on the EU strategy for vocational education and training

Last updated on Thursday, 29/01/2026

The European Commission has opened a call for evidence and public consultation on a European VET strategy. Whether you are a business facing hiring difficulties, a training provider, or a learner, tell us by 19 February what changes are needed to build a more competitive Europe.

As part of the Union of Skills, the European VET strategy aims to support Member States to make vocational education and training (VET) more attractive, innovative and inclusive, as a key driver for the EU’s competitiveness with a future-ready workforce. Its goal is to increase the number of people in the EU with a relevant secondary VET degree and address skills needs in relevant sectors of the economy, including to ensure EU strategic autonomy and support the twin transition.

This initiative is going through the youth check process. As such, this is an opportunity for youth groups and youth civil society organisations to contribute with their views highlighting the concrete challenges that they face and identifying possible actions to be taken by the EU and its Member States to address those challenges.

Share your views and give feedback on the European Commission’s Have Your Say portal until 19 February 2026 (midnight, Brussels time). You can answer a survey (open public consultation) or upload your feedback directly on the website.
