As part of the European Youth Week 2024 and to foster youth engagement in EU policymaking, the Vice-President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas is set to host a Youth Policy Dialogue on "Our European Way of Life" on 9 April in Brussels.

The primary objective of a Youth Policy Dialogue is to provide a platform for young voices to contribute to the EU's policy-making processes. By actively involving young Europeans, the European Commission aims to ensure that its policies are reflective of the aspirations and concerns of the younger generation.

During this Policy Dialogue, 15 dynamic young individuals from diverse backgrounds across the EU will have the opportunity to articulate their opinions, express their ideas, and engage in constructive discussions on various aspects of the European way of life.

Vice-President Schinas will lend an attentive ear to the viewpoints shared by these young people, aiming to incorporate their perspectives into EU policies and initiatives. Through this inclusive exchange, Vice-President Schinas seeks to underscore the EU's commitment to promoting values of democracy, human rights, and solidarity as well as to bridge the gap between the EU policy-making echelons and the vibrant youth demographic.

With the European elections looming just two months following this Policy Dialogue, there is a pressing need to empower and engage young people in the electoral process. Vice-president Schinas underscores the significance of youth engagement in shaping the future trajectory of the European project.
