The EU wants an appointment with you! Next Wednesday 10 September at 09:00. President von der Leyen will deliver her State of the European Union address in the European Parliament. You can watch it live.

The State of the Union (SOTEU) address is an annual speech by the President of the European Commission to the European Parliament, setting her priorities for the Union for the year ahead. It is a key moment in EU’s democracy to:

• reflect on the past year,
• outline the EU’s priorities,
• announce new initiatives.

The address is followed by a debate with Members of the European Parliament, reinforcing accountability.

This is an opportunity to talk about Europe’s challenges and its future. From the economy to climate, energy to defence, this is the time to discuss what’s next.
