Description

The aim of the foundation is the support in treatment to children who have leukemia, to provide information about the disease, to organize meetings and publications about treatment of children with this diagnosis, making statistics about the children, organization of charity activities to get financial support also cooperation with foreign organizations with the same priority. Also the Foundation provides information, financial assistance, and emotional support to families of adults and children affected by leukemia, lymphoma and other related blood disorders. During its activities Muratsan Hospital Complex organises charity concerts, Armenian famous artists’ meetings with ill children, happy performances in hospital. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will live in a guest house reserved for volunteers during her/his entire service. It is situated very close to the center of Yerevan, capital of Armenia, which is an asset to volunteer’s inclusion in the social life. The volunteer will receive monthly payments for personal expenses. To address the safety and protection of the volunteer, the Hosting Organization made sure that the guest house is situated in the safe quarter of the city. The volunteer will be supported by HUJ should they need medical or other help.

Training during the activity

The pedagogical support will be provided by the staff of Rehabilitation centre, especially by supervisor of the project. The volunteer will also participate in the seminar-trainings organized by the staff of the Canter which will help the volunteer to get more motivated for the work activities. The volunteers will have 2 Armenian classes per week with experienced teacher of Armenian language.

Participant profile

The volunteer should be ready to take on the following tasks: • Work with children in hospitals (activities include: games, arts & crafts,...) • Organization of charity activities/events • Searching for financial support from local and international sponsors • Promotion of the activities of the foundation & updating Website However, the tasks will mainly be decided after the arrival of the volunteer together with the staff, and will be more flexible. !!
