Kreativwerkstatt - Freie Schule Salzburg is a new alternative school, initiated by an idealistic team of teachers and parents and based on the concepts developed by Rebecca. and Mauricio. Wild and the pedagogy of Maria Montessori. For the next school year we expect around 30 children aged from 6 to 13 years who will attend the school. Prepared environment, Montessori materials and intensive support by about three present teachers per morning allow for open and self- determined learning processes in multi-age classrooms. The curriculum includes intercultural learning and the learning of foreign languages. With opening hours from 7.30 am to 1 pm, the school offers a lively and inspiring morning for the children. For some activities the children are separated in primary I and II and secondary school, for the rest of the time they learn and work together.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The accomodation will eighther be a room or a shared flat or to live with an austrian family. Concerning Food - some days a week we will cook lunch together at our school. For the other days there will be money for food allowence. About transport, the volunteer will receive a ticket for public transport means in Salzburg for the whole time he or she is here.
Training during the activity
There will be an On Arrival Training in the beginning of your volunteering project as well as the opportunetey to take part in Mid Term Training (in the middle of the Time)
Participant profile
We are searching for a young person who loves children and is interessted their development. It would be benefitial if you had previous educational or pedagogikal experience but it is not mandatory. You are able to stay in the background, observing the learning processes of the school community, but also are willing to involve yourself when necessary. You are open and willing to work in a team of highly motivated and creative teachers. You are interested in creative matters (music, dance, sports, arts, cooking), as well in writing, reading and maths. german language skills are important.
