Description
The demand for locations for graffiti and the related subculture in the Municipality of Koper grew a lot, so in 2022 the Youth center Koper started organizing a multi-day graffiti festival called Street Art Fest Koper. Many stakeholders in the field of culture in the Municipality of Koper, as well as young people, participate in the selection of the locations of the city paintings. In addition to areas for drawing and graffiti, the festival also offers a rich accompanying program and workshops on the topic of graffiti and stencil preparation, guided tours of already painted underpasses, lectures on the topic of street art and a music program that illuminates current urban culture. With the festival, we want to support young up and coming street artists, continue to support street art and at the same time promote one of the most important contemporary art movements of the 21st century. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The program will cover: - Travel costs: If you are up to 500 km from Koper 211 eur / If you are up to 2000 km from Koper 309 eur. - Accomodation: the volunteers will be placed in a hostel in the city center of Koper. There will be 4 rooms with 2 twin beds. - Food allowance and pocket money will be assured for each participant.
Training during the activity
As a participant you will: - gain first-hand insight into just how much effort and skill goes into planning and preparation of a festival; - gain insights and useful knowledge on the designing, hosting and management of the festival based on practical experience; - develop multimedia knowledge and skills; - improve digital skills and digital literacy; - have a chance to develop a personal project with the resources of the Youth center Koper; - improve the basics of working with different equipment; - receive the Youthpass certificate, ...and much more.
Participant profile
Roles of volunteers: 1. Photography and Video - Capturing moments and performances during the festival. 2. Social Media Management - Share updates, highlights, and engage with the online audience. 3. Security and Physical Work - Assisting in maintaining a safe environment and performing physical tasks related to the festival logistics. 4. Artistic Contributions - Participating in any hands-on artistic tasks (painting/drawing the murals). 5. Artist Interviews - Conducting interviews with participating artists, musicians and other performers We are looking for 8 volunteers.
