Description
The present volunteering team activity is part of the ECHAV project - Empower vulnerable Communities through HumAid Volunteers. Volunteers will work full-time (between 30 and 38 hours per week) and will have two days off per week. Tasks: 1.Implementation of workshops and educational activities for minors of the territory, including computer laboratories and English courses; 2. Creation of a life skill and creativity manual, children’s wall magazines and articles; 3.Reform and strengthen the children's clubs in community schools promote extra-curricular activities and increase access to life skills 4. Organization of parenting education workshops to foster awareness on positive parenting practices and reduce cases of violence against children; 5.Strengthen the partnership with local government (wards,Municipalities), schools and parents for child protection in local community. VIN has been working in 3 districts (Nuwakot, Okhaldunga, and Kathamandu) in Bagmati Prov. and Koshi Prov.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Food and accommodation will be provided by the local association. Volunteers will be housed in a rented house or at the Hostel in Tarakeshwar Municipality, which is also home to the Women's Business Center. The accommodation offers amenities such as a kitchen, shared living rooms and comfortable bunk beds for the volunteers. Dal Bhat or rice lentils is the regular Nepalese food. Rice is generally common in lunch and dinner in most parts of the country. The vegetables and lentils may vary with place and season. VIN will also send pre-departure information to each selected volunteer.
Training during the activity
Sending and hosting organisations are providing trainings before, during and after HUMAID volunteering.

1. Volunteers should have a genuine passion for the overall development of children, particularly in the early stages; 2. Effective teaching skills, creating engaging and age-appropriate educational activities, workshop and trainings; 3. Be culturally sensitive and respectful, understanding and embracing the local customs and traditions of Nepal; 4. Can sustain in low living standard and adapt to diverse situations; 5. Work collaboratively with local communities and volunteers; 6. Adaptability to diverse situations, creative problem-solving skills, 7. Good English level
