Description
Apprentis d’Auteuil is a Foundation composed of more than 200 youth centers. Frassati primary school welcomes students aged 6 to 12 in small classes, and offers an innovative pedagogy for young people having difficulties in the regular system. The school is located on two sites : in Le Vésinet in the Yvelines region of Ile-de-France (70 students) and in Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole (15 young people). You will be associated with the pedagogical and educational team of the school, and contribute to the implementation of activities : - Co-intervention in the classes, supported by the teachers - Animation playful and educational activities with educators - Accompaniment during school outings - Work with the teachers of their class themes : Arts, Music, Sports, Ecology (educational garden), Digital - Help with homework in conjunction with the educator - Co-leading language classes in conjunction with the english teacher Work time : 35h per week, on 5 days. Gain 2 extra days-off each month.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
During your mission, you will receive a monthly financial compensation for pocket money, food and public transportation. You will have access to the school canteen during your mission for lunch time. Accommodation is to be defined, and could be on a neighboring Apprentis d'Auteuil site in a pavilion shared with another international volunteer. The volunteer could also be housed in individual accommodation in an Apprentis d'Auteuil residence for young workers. Transportation : Le Vésinet station (RER A train line) or Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole station (RER C), 20-30 minutes from Paris.
Training during the activity
The French national agency for ESC projects will run 2 seminars in which the volunteer will be invited to take part. Also, you will have access to the OLS platform which offers online french trainings during your mission. Apprentis d’Auteuil also provides training such as « how to animate an activity on education for citizenship and international solidarity ».
Participant profile
Young volunteer with a good level of French and a wish to work with young children with complex profiles. A motivated, dynamic volunteer who enjoys working in a team and isn't afraid to suggest ideas. This mission is particularly adapted to young people who want to open up to others and human relations, and discover the social and teaching professions. Volunteers should be good listeners and, if possible, should also have experience in animation and tutoring.
