Description
CPMGA is a feminist organization dedicated to the full exercise of women's rights. The volunteer will support these activities: Planning, supervision, and logistical support in training on the prevention and treatment of violence in 17 municipalities; Systematization of the results of training processes, follow-up actions, and evaluations; Guidance and attention to cases of violence against women, with follow-up and monitoring of replication processes by women victims of violence in various municipalities and systematization of the attended cases with report preparation; Collection of life stories of women who have suffered violence and participate in CPMGA. The work will be carried out in the office of El Alto, from Monday to Friday, and if necessary, on weekends, with occasional travel. The volunteer will work 35 hours per week, with two days off per month, and will always have the support of the staff.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The Gregoria Apaza Women's Promotion Center offers accommodation with a private room for the volunteer. CPMGA will ensure basic services such as water, energy, and internet. The accommodation will be located in a residential area of La Paz, facilitating access to El Alto, where the CPMGA office is located, via the cable car. The area is safe and close to medical services, supermarkets, and recreational areas, ensuring comfort and well-being during the stay. Additionally, options for vegetarians and vegans are available.
Training during the activity
The volunteer will receive training in providing support for women who have suffered violence, using active participation strategies. They will learn procedures for the guidance and attention to cases of violence, following cases of denunciation, investigations and systematizing monthly reports on care in various municipalities in Bolivia. They will gain certified linguistic knowledge through the OLS platform, develop intercultural capacity and awareness, problem-solving skills, and understanding of the humanitarian context. All acquired competencies will be certified through Youth Pass.
Participant profile
We are looking for a person with skills to work in a team, listen, and dialogue effectively, with a strong attitude towards volunteering, open to working in intercultural and intersectional contexts, both in rural and urban areas. It is essential that the participant promotes feminism and values of justice and solidarity by supporting women in the prevention and guidance in cases of violence. Preferred education includes defense of women's rights, psychology, social work, with knowledge in human rights and/or gender. Experience in similar organizations is preferred.
