Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation: shared house in Reykjavík, walking distance from the office/city centre. While in camps in the countryside, accommodation is provided by local hosts; facilities vary according to the accommodation available, but SEEDS always ensures good-quality and safe accommodation to its volunteers. Food is provided by SEEDS, and volunteers help organise the weekly shopping. A plant-based diet is followed during SEEDS' camps. Transportation costs to Iceland and back are covered by the project's budget up to Erasmus+ limits for a certain country.
Training during the activity
SEEDS organises pre-departure (online) and on-arrival (in-person) orientation training to provide theoretical and practical knowledge. Volunteers are introduced to the ESC, SEEDS, Iceland as the hosting country, non-formal education, intercultural awareness and leadership. All volunteers have the opportunity to attend a 4-day On-Arrival training provided by the Icelandic National Agency, within two months of their arrival. Volunteers receive support from SEEDS' volunteer coordinator and peers while learning about SEEDS’ activities and building confidence within a comfortable environment.
