Social media e video per progetti interculturali
Associazione Antigóna
Associazione Jukus
Graz, Austria
Description
Since 12 years, the hosting organization is specialized in supporting youth in culture and sports, implementing several intercultural and socio-cultural activities in the areas of the city of Graz and the entire Styria region. Its basic principle is easy: the living together of different cultural identities is not a contradiction! So it wants to emphasize the positive aspects of a diverse society, aiming to raise public awareness for collectiveness and common interests. All activities of the hosting organization are focused on equal-treatment and non-discrimination. As a volunteer, you’re looked for to support the culture and media projects related to migration and integration, and also to help during events, in the library and about office management.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The hosting organization will make available for you a room at a student's dormitory. There is the opportunity either to use a provided bicycle to reach your workplace in the association’s premises, or to use public transports (tickets will be given), as the location is reachable by bus or tram. You will receive a food allowance of 270 euros per month, and a pocket money of 210 euros per month. The travel expenses from your hometown to Austria will be fully reimbursed. An insurance provided by the European Union will cover you from any possible risk during your volunteering.
Training during the activity
You will attend three official training sessions: a pre-departure training before leaving Italy, an on-arrival training in a few weeks after your advent in Austria, and a mid-term training around the half of the volunteering experience. You will have the possibility to attend a German course.
Participant profile
We are looking for an open-minded, communicative, proactive and self-organised volunteer, eager to work in team. You must be interested in the domains of media, culture and social work. The ideal candidate should possess previous experiences in design, photography, video making, and use of office suites and social media platforms. Some knowledge of intercultural work is welcome, but what’s mandatory is the interest in topics such as migration and integration of foreign people. Finally, you must feel motivated to learn a bit of German language.
