Description
Oasi Giovani is a non profit association, based in Savigliano (CN), founded in 1997, that operates in the social welfare and educational fields. Oasi Giovani is willing to welcome 2 international volunteers for 12 months, to support the educational services, particularly within the Oceano project aimed at adolescents. Project’s objectives: Provide direct experience in an educational organization, working with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds, for the volunteers; Promote solidarity in social contexts, especially for those from vulnerable family situations; Participate in the activities of a non-profit organization providing socio-educational services; The volunteers will contribute to create a strong international presence and raise awareness of European opportunities for young people in Savigliano, integrating international dimensions into youth work. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteers will live in a small accommodation owned by Oasi Giovani where they will share the living area with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom and will have a private bedroom. The accommodation is located in a building adjacent to the Oasi Giovani headquarter, which is a 5-minute walk from the city centre and the train station. The accommodation is equipped with wifi internet access. Oasi Giovani provides a bicycle for volunteers who want one. The association is in contact with a doctor who is available to visit volunteers. On duty, volunteers can eat at the in-house canteen.
Training during the activity
Volonteers can participate in the weekly staff meetings during which organisational and educational issues are discussed. This is an opportunity for the volunteers to get to know the association better and to learn the daily work of staff members working in the social welfare and educational field. In case of staff trainings that Oasi Giovani will consider suitable for volunteers too, Oasi Giovani will offer volunteers the chance to participate. Volunteers will participate in all trainings sessions foreseen by the Italian National Agency for ESC and in possible training organised by Eufemia.
Participant profile
Oasi Giovani is seeking two enthusiastic young volunteers, aimed at promoting intercultural exchange and EU opportunities for youth. Volunteers will primarily work with children and youngsters, participating in outdoor activities during the summer. Ideal candidates are empathetic, dynamic, curious, and responsible, ready to bring new ideas and set a good example. This is an opportunity for personal growth and to make a difference in the community. This project is for you if you like being time with kids and youngsters because you will spend most of your volunteering time with them.
