Description
Movimiento por la Paz -MPDL- (Spain), ADICE (France) and We World-GVC (Italy) are three EU non-profit organisations with extensive experience in the fields of development cooperation and humanitarian action. Together we carry out the project "VOL4PEACE - Promoting youth and women leadership in humanitarian aid contexts: international volunteering for peace in MENA and LATAM regions" in the framework of the European Solidarity Corps initiative. With this project we hope to strengthen the capacities of local communities by working on women's leadership and human rights through international volunteering together with our partners in 8 countries in Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Jordan, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia and Guatemala. Through this vacancy, the selected person will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to the work of Movement for Peace -MPDL- in Jordan and to social change through international and humanitarian volunteering.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The costs of accommodation, visas, insurance and flight tickets are covered by Movimiento por la Paz. In addition, the volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 680€to cover basic needs and local transport. The work schedule will be the one established by the host organisation. For each month of volunteering, the volunteer is entitled to two days off, in addition to the public holidays at the destination. The place where most of the activities will take place during the volunteering period will be Amman with possible occasional trips to other areas in the country.
Training during the activity
The volunteer will receive on-site or on-line training in Madrid prior to their deployment. The on-site training is divided into general and specific modules depending on the tasks to be carried out by the volunteer during his/her stay, as well as the needs of the host organisation. In addition, the volunteer will have a Learning and Development Plan that will measure the achievement of objectives and the development of competences during his/her stay.
Participant profile
The volunteer will play a key role in the design, planning, execution, and monitoring of communication and partnerships strategies to support the MPDL’s mission in Jordan. This role involves managing a network of partners and alliances, employing resource mobilization tools for fundraising, and actively participating in communications working groups and events in line with the pacifist, feminist and anti-racist values of the organisation as a fundamental requirement. Task Description: ● Communications Management - Strategy Development: Support the creation of a communications and visibility strategy to bring MPDL’s Jordan mandate into the public domain, developing advocacy materials adapting them for local audiences, and arrange translations when necessary. - Media and Content Management: Manage MPDL’s Jordan social media content. - Campaigns and Events: Organize advocacy campaigns according to nationally and internationally observed days relevant to the prioritized strategic areas of MPDL’s Jordan mission. - Gender and intersectionality mainstreaming: Promote awareness of gender and intersectional issues in all communications. ● Partnerships and Resource Mobilization - Funding Strategy and Donor relations: Collaborate with the Head of Mission to identify funding priorities. - Partner Relations: Support to maintain and update profiles of strategic donors, private sector partners, and other stakeholders. - Knowledge Management: Collect and document MPDL’s Jordan best practices, lessons learned, and success stories to promote knowledge sharing and learning among staff and partners. Qualifications: - Previous experience in communications, partnerships and/or resource mobilization, as well as content creation and social media management. - Knowledge in gender, human-rights based and intersectional approaches. - Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Teamwork, adaptation to changing contexts and situations, a proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and in coordination with the rest of the team are highly valued
