Description
The “BuchKindergarten” (BookKindergarten) is situated in the Southwest of Leipzig. The concept of the kindergarten is based on many years of cultural and pedagogical experiences with ”book-work”, the children are settled in creative surroundings and visit once a week a Booksworkshop, a special room for producing small books out of paintings. The volunteer will be working together with the educators, supporting their daily work with children of the mixed-age (3 to 6 years). Apart from helping children to explore the world, he/she will have an opportunity to develop their own interesting projects and activities for children. Two other ESC volunteers work in the kindergarten in other groups. Working hours are around 6 hours+30 minutes for a break and 30 or 38 hours as a maximum per week. The volunteering project starts in July and lasts 10-12 months.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Normally all the volunteers live in shared flats, have their own room - but share kitchen and bathroom with 3 other volunteers. The flat is equipped with everything needed. But If you wish we can as well try to organize a host family. Food/Pocket money will be paid out to you as well as money to buy the local transportation monthly ticket (538 Euro per month all together) or you just buy a bike and sell it at the end of the project. Leipzig is a very nice city to ride a bike.
Training during the activity
We will help you find a German language course which fits your needs. The budget for a German course is 300 Euro. You will also have access to the Online Language Course platform of Erasmus+. You will attend two seminars organised by the National Agency. The process of learning and personal development will be reflected with your personal mentor and tutor.
