Description

AWO Kreisverband Konstanz eV is one of the largest providers of social work in the district of Konstanz. We have three European Solidarity Corps volunteer facilities and have been hosting volunteers for many years. We look forward to the intercultural exchange. Our main themes are inclusion, community development and bringing people of different ages, cultures, countries and situations together. Volunteers who are interested in training or continuing their training in Germany after their voluntary work, or who are looking for a job, receive the necessary advice on bureaucratic processes (recognition of titles, etc.), application procedures, etc. The Taka Tuka Land Family House offers a total of 45 places for children from 6 months to the start of school. The focus of care is all day. Childcare is provided in 3 mixed-age groups, each with 15 children. The working time is 38 hours/week. Two hours of German language course are included in the working hours.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Apartment in Singen with 3 bedrooms. Each volunteer has their own room. Bathroom and kitchen to share. The house has a basement and an outdoor terrace. Meals: They receive around €213 in pocket money and around €312 in groceries per month. Training during the activity

You will take part in the National Agency's official training cycle, which will allow you to meet other ESC volunteers in Germany, share your experiences, learn about and talk about the main concepts of the European Solidarity Corps. The meetings take place in different cities in Germany. In addition, during working hours, volunteers can participate in internal professional development activities of the institution and language training; Improving the language comprehension in everyday conversation and the technical vocabulary for their voluntary work in this institution.

Participant profile

Interested in pedagogical work with children aged 0-6 years of different profiles. Some need support with language, motor or social skills. The tasks to be performed are: Participation in the daily care of the children, hygiene education, participation in events, excursions: planning, preparation and implementation, domestic activities: cooking, laundry and cleaning service. Previous work experience would be helpful but not essential.
