The Team Generation in European Capital of Culture Chemnitz2025 is responsible for the participation and development of programme items for children, young people and older people. In the team's youth programme CREATE.U, young people learn to plan and implement their own cultural projects, some of which are international, through mentoring and workshops. The team also supports several solidarity-based participation projects for older people and focusses on their needs. In a conference of generations, the topic of intergenerational cultural work in particular is discussed and trialled internationally. You will support the organisation of workshops, group meetings and various leisure activities for the participants in the youth programme as well as the communication (e.g. Insta) of the programme. You can also support the emerging youth culture projects and participate in them together with other young people. Also you can work in projects for older people and focusses on their needs.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

-Accomodation in Zwickau or Chemnitz/ Saxony/Germany - hostel/flats -Self care board -transfer from the airport to the hostel and back, regional transfer -Organizing from seminars, weekend acitivities, language support -payment of pocket money and board money

Training during the activity

There is also a training programme as part of our volunteer programme. This is open to ESC participants. In addition to the extensive programme of the European Capital of Culture, first aid training, voice training, de-escalation training, awareness and teamwork are also offered. In addition, ESC participants will receive a clear introduction to their specific areas of responsibility and can expand their skills in co-operation with our colleagues and professional partners.

Participant profile

You should be curious about working in many different projects with many different people. You will mainly be involved in the youth programme, working together with youngsters between 14 and 27. Knowledge of communication, organising events, knowledge of social media or graphic design would be helpful. A general interest in arts, culture, music, theatre and similar areas would be great.
