Continuing on the work that was done during the past year on the Telethrion Land we want to grab the opportunity that was given to as by the ESC program and complete the new magnificent building that will serve as the main hub of the Telethrion Community Project, through skill sharing, resilient community building and creating a new paradigm of sustainable life. This ESC volunteering team will run for 150 days *including travel days, from the 1 February 2025 to the 30 of June 2025 the FreeAndReal School of Sustainability, will welcome 5 motivated participants from EU countries, who together with the skilled trainers of the Free and Real team will get their hands dirty and minds full on sustainability and resilience in practice. 🎯 The aim of this 150 day experience is to combine the basic aspects of sustainable infrastructure in the topics of mainly natural building adding some agroforestry, renewable energy and community development.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
🏘️Participants will be staying in the FreeAndReal off-grid test site, at the natural buildings of FreeAndReal, will be “powered” by plant based cuisine, and experience a communal sustainable lifestyle within walking distance by the sea!
Training during the activity
🛠️We shall be mainly working on a new 100sqm megayurt strawbale building at the mountain site called Telethrion and also taking care of the new trees that were planted in May. During our time in the Test Site location we will completing the new cob kitchen using other natural building methods, combining theory and practice, using innovative non formal educational methods. And enjoying every moment. The project will take place in 2 locations of Free and Real, one in Agiokampos, and one on the Telethrion mountain in Evia Island, Greece approximately 3 hours from Athens and Thessaloniki.

Eligibility Criteria: Age: Up Until 30 years old Experience or honest interest in sustainability, community building, or related fields Strong motivation and willingness to actively participate in all project activities Open-mindedness and willingness to work in a multicultural environment including the dissemination activities and goals Sufficient use of English language Be willing to experience a low impact lifestyle such as using compost toilets, vegan/plant based diet and community respectful way of life
