Gender Officer at Alianza Colombia (Santander de Quilichao, dept. del Cauca) - Humanitarian Volunteer

FUNDACION ALIANZA POR LOS DERECHOS, LA IGUALDAD Y LA SOLIDARIDAD INTERNACIONAL

Santander de Quilichao, Colombia

Description

As a volunteer, you will be actively involved in gender-focused cooperation and humanitarian aid projects aimed at empowering vulnerable women. Your role will include contributing to project design, preparing interim and final reports, and submitting change requests when necessary. You will manage relevant information to justify actions and coordinate with other organizations and donors. Additionally, you will support the monitoring and implementation of the organization's Protection Against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEA) policies. In both areas, you will conduct field activities to gather information and assist in the development and execution of project actions. Your involvement will be crucial in advancing our mission and ensuring effective project outcomes.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will have the opportunity to live in a shared house with other volunteers, where you will have your own private room and access to shared services, Wi-Fi, and a mobile communication card. The residence is close to the office, offers easy access to local transportation, and allows you to engage with the communities where we carry out our projects.

Training during the activity

You will gain valuable insights into the entire lifecycle of development and humanitarian aid projects and receive specialized training in feminist leadership and logical frameworks, among other topics. The training will equip you with tools to understand the crucial role of a gender perspective as a transversal and essential tool for driving societal change. Additionally, you will learn about current mechanisms used in international cooperation to prevent harm and abuse of power within and outside organizations.

Participant profile

A strong interest in developing skills in project formulation, management, and activity planning is essential. Studies in development cooperation, humanitarian aid, gender studies, and protection with a focus on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) will be highly valued. Preferably, we seek someone with experience in policies related to sexual exploitation and abuse and/or in designing and delivering training courses. A certain level of Spanish is required for this position. Additionally, skills in information management, research, analysis, and document drafting will be highly regarded.
