Description
The Mediafactory is part of a youth center in Marienthal and its mission is to help youngsters to create their own movies/photos and to help them to be more aware about media content. It is a non-formal education institution, which offers activities for young people from the age 4 to 27. The learning-by-doing approach makes it possible for the volunteers and the youngsters to try out the different medias and to take responsibility for their projects. The volunteers will supervise the children during the media activities and help them to create their own movies/ photos. During their stay in the Mediafactory, the volunteers are asked to create their own project based on filmography or photography. Furthermore, the volunteers will use the different editing softwares used by the Mediafactory.

Training during the activity
During the activities and the volunteering service the volunteer will be able to participate in training courses and will be accompanied by the team of the permanent staff.
Participant profile
The participant MUST speak German. Interest in creating media content such as photos, films or animations. The volunteer should be comfortable working with children and young people, as a large part of the role will involve mentoring children and young people in media activities. The volunteer should have a passion for film, photography and/or graphic design. Basic knowledge is an advantage.
