Description

Entropia is based in the University Campus, in the rural area of Rende town, near the city of Cosenza (Calabria, Italy). The Campus is like a small international village, with houses and canteens for students from all over the world. The association has been managing DAM, a space that works both as a cultural center and as a service center, hosting many Italian and international students, young people, and local artists, for several activities. Its main aim is promoting active citizenship, inclusion, solidarity, peace and respect for humans and the planet, through arts, culture and communication. ESC volunteers will stay in our community, engaging in local activities and projects while learning about welcoming practices, language exchanges, digital communication, and organizing cultural events. They will promote the mobility desk's activities, to do office and receptionist work, promote EU programs and values during meetings with locals, help interested people in English language.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation is available in a shared flat within the university area, the rooms will be shared among the volunteers. The apartment is conveniently located within a reasonable distance from the office and workspaces, in order to go to work by foot or by bicycle. For activities trips they will receive bus tickets, bus station is inside the Campus. Utilities, wifi and basic home furniture will be provided. A set of rules has been established for the accommodation, and we kindly request that volunteers respect it. Moreover, volunteers will receive a monthly amount for food shopping expenses.

Training during the activity

Participants will receive an on-arrival training and a mid-term one. Additionally, specific training opportunities will be tailored based on each participant's responsibilities. To facilitate linguistic integration, volunteers will have an Italian basic course, exchanges and tandems with locals. The focus behind the project is double: allow development of the creativity of young people by giving them the opportunity to test ideas and tools in their topics of interest; the second focus is about professional skills and competences that participants will acquire in the field of youth work.

Participant profile

The participants involved will be young people aged between 18 and 30, characterized by a strong motivation and by sharing the values of equality, inclusion, solidarity, openness and dedication to others. We are looking for youngsters interested in developing professional skills in youth work. We need creative and proactive person, with a friendly communicative and flexible attitude, wishing of development interpersonal relationships, open-minded and with a responsible attitude, with strong motivation to join this experience and our specific community, with an authentic interest for Italian language and the south Italy culture and lifestyle.
