Description
We are Salvando Peludos, the indomitable animal awareness foundation, based in Villamanta, Madrid (Spain). We are guided by purely protectionist principles, making us a reference in this field. We provide home, food and affection to the wrongly named farm animals and we rescue, rehabilitate and socialise animals that are considered domestic. Always from an ethological and holistic welfare perspective and raising awareness in society. We have an ambitious mission: to make the world a less cruel and more compassionate place for all its inhabitants. That's why we are looking for 2 volunteers who would like to help us. The tasks to be carried out will always be guided and supervised. They are very varied and may vary depending on the needs and your interest: help in the cleaning, rescue, care and rehabilitation of abandoned animals. in the veterinary area, social media, in training...you will work side by side with the volunteer network that is the driving force of our foundation
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
We use natural resources to supply our daily needs. Resources are limited and we must use them responsibly. Their availability will depend on the use we make of them during the day. Inside the shelter, you will have your own personal space. We have a caravan and a separate space where you will share the bathroom and kitchen, bicycle and a van at your disposal for any kind of emergency so that you can travel to nearby places. You will be provided with the transport pass of Madrid. The bus stop is 1.5km from the Sanctuary. You will receive 45 euros a week for groceries and 6€ a day pocket money.
Training during the activity
You will be able to acquire skills such as empathy, decision making, increasing self-esteem and learning to work in a team. You will also acquire valuable professional skills in the workplace such as team organisation, project management, leadership... Acquisition of intercultural experience increasing tolerance, understanding of diversity and the ability to work in global environments. Learning about kind and responsible education of animals. For us, the most important thing: the satisfaction of having contributed to a cause of solidarity and the stories that you will live and always remember
