Description

Kindergarten Päkapikk is a municipal kindergarten located in Võru. It operates with ten groups, comprising two groups for small children aged 1.5 to 3 years, and eight groups for children aged 3 to 7 years. The kindergarten values outdoor education and cultural traditions. Besides working with curriculum on daily basis, the kindergarten especially focuses on children’s healthcare, environmental awareness, local studies and preparation for school. Volunteers play a supportive role in the kindergarten, helping staff with daily activities. They can choose to work with a specific age group or assist across multiple groups based on their interests and abilities. Volunteers have the chance to contribute ideas, propose new teaching games, songs, dances, share aspects of their own culture with the children. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be accommodated in a shared flat that corresponds the typical living standards in Estonia. Each volunteer will have their own single or double room, alongside access to common areas including a equipped kitchen, bathroom facilities, and a living room. Typically, volunteers share the flat with other international participants and utilize local city transportation for their daily commute which is also covered. Additionally, volunteers will receive a monthly Pocket Money of 150€ for personal expenses and Food Allowance of 200€, managing their own meal planning and preparation.
