Description

This project, based at the Pinocchio Day Center in Panciu, Romania, is dedicated to fostering social inclusion and enhancing the well-being of vulnerable children aged 3-16, with a particular focus on Roma children. Managed by the Lumea lui Pinocchio Association and accredited as a social service provider, the center uses non-formal education methods to promote social integration, prevent exclusion, and alleviate poverty. -As a volunteer, your tasks will vary based on your skills and interests, and may include: -Assisting local staff and collaborating with other volunteers in daily activities such as handicrafts, literacy support, foreign language lessons, personal hygiene workshops, and sports. -Organizing special events like Christmas, Carnival, Easter, or birthday celebrations, and facilitating game activities, cinema hours, and recycling workshops. -Promoting a healthy lifestyle through culinary workshops and hygiene education. -Assisting in managing social media.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Travel Costs: Covered based on the European Commission's "distance calculator." Pocket Money: €4 per day of service. Food: The association will provide money for groceries. Accommodation: Volunteers will share accommodation with other international volunteers (two people per room) and will be responsible for house cleaning and meal preparation.

Training during the activity

The participant will actively engage in non-formal education activities, supported by our dedicated teachers and staff. They will also work closely with a mentor to ensure the experience aligns with their expectations and goals.

Participant profile

We are looking for passionate young individuals who are deeply committed to advocating for the rights of the most disadvantaged groups and who have a strong enthusiasm for volunteering. We value reliability, critical thinking, and a genuine willingness to collaborate within a culturally diverse team. Ideal participants are eager for personal growth and dedicated to making a positive impact on others. While previous experience in volunteering and educational work, particularly with disadvantaged children, is highly appreciated, it is not mandatory. Artistic skills, along with competencies in communication and graphic design, are also considered valuable assets.
