Description
Tutoring for Children and Youth: The volunteer will assist with individual tutoring for primary and secondary school students up to 18 years old. This support will focus mainly on developing language skills but may also include help in other subjects based on the children's needs. The volunteer will participate in preparing and conducting lessons, providing individual care and support to students to help improve their academic performance and boost their confidence in communicating in Czech. Leisure Club: The volunteer will contribute to organizing leisure activities for Ukrainian children. These activities will include cultural events, exploring Czech culture, craft workshops, and other fun and educational activities to help the children better integrate into Czech society. Additionally, the volunteer could lead excursions, assist with craft activities, or prepare activities focused on ecological education and basic social skills.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteer will be accomodated in school dormitory with other students. He will have shared room room with another international volunteer. The bathroom and kitchen will be shared with other students. Volunteers arrange their meals. As the club is in the same town as accomodation, it is easy to pass on foot. If interested, bicycle can be provided. The cost of the accomodation, food, transport, and pocket money are covered by the project. The Vsetín region is known for its beautiful hilly nature, so there is a possibility of hiking and cycling all around.
Training during the activity
Volunteers will receive training and support, and be part of a community effort to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people from the community.
Participant profile
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated volunteers to support Ukrainian children and youngsters living in Vsetin. Participant should have a genuine interest in working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and providing emotional support. Experience in education, youth work, or community service is beneficial, but not required. Volunteers should be empathetic, patient, and open to different cultures, particularly Ukrainian. Strong communication skills in English, Czech, or Ukrainian are essential, with proficiency in more than one language being an advantage.
