Trans Europe Halles (TEH) is actively looking for a motivated EU Solidarity Corp Volunteers to join its international team in Lund, Sweden, for 1 year starting 1 February 2025! Trans Europe Halles is an international network of soulmates currently uniting 166 grassroot cultural organisation in 40+ countries within and beyond Europe. We have been at the forefront of repurposing industrial and commercial buildings for arts, culture and community uses since 1983. we are independent, we are community-driven, we are from everywhere, we are artists, we are thinkers, we are urbanists, we are ecologists, we are builders, doers and dreamers, we are sharers, we are caretakers, we are learners and educators, we are strategists, we are activists, we are in solidarity, we are a family. The coordination team consists of 11 skilled and motivated people from different professional backgrounds and origins. TEH’s communication language is English. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will be accommodated in one of our safe houses either in Malmo or Lund. It takes about10 mins bike ride to central city. You will live together with other flat mates where you have your own private room and share common facilities such as kitchen, toilet, shower, washing machine, living room etc. The accommodation is fully equipped with furniture, beds, refrigerator and other basic amenities needed. You will be provided with a local bus card and bicycle as well as pocket money. There are several supermarkets available in the city to purchase food.

Training during the activity

Task mentor will prepare a tailor-made professional development programme upon volunteers’ arrival together with the volunteer. Job shadowing with the TEH staff members will be scheduled at the start of the volunteering period for the volunteer to get an overview of the organisation, the projects we are running/part of and the variety of tasks are being carried out by the team on a daily basis. For this opportunity the volunteer will be mentored on a daily basis by our team members working on event production

ARE YOU THINKING OF BECOMING AN ARTS AND CULTURE EVENTS PRODUCER? Are you passionate about arts and culture, activism, urbanism and/or architecture, ecology, buildings? Do you have a solidarity experience in organizing arts and culture events, conferences/talks or public events? Do you want to improve your skills in an exciting international environment, get to meet a multitude of stakeholders in Sweden and across Europe, and assist senior project managers in their production work on our local and European events? We may have something for you!
