FS1 is Salzburg’s Community TV station. It is an independent, non-commercial, non-profit TV station in Salzburg, Austria. We run a 24h Television programme, featuring the civil society of Salzburg. Over 30 non-profit and cultural organisations are member of the organisation, together with independent producers, a "user generated TV programme" is produced and broadcasted. We run an intense training and internship programme called "FS1 Academy" to qualify interns and individuals from all social, economic and cultural backgrounds. FS1 has high ethic goals, we support minorities, migrants, impaired people, youth, cultural and subcultural movements and are partnering with similar organisations in the field of media literacy, media training and education.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
A local standard accommodation is provided. The room has a balcony and private bathroom with toilet. The kitchen is shared with another volunteer living in the room nearby. The volunteer receives food money monthly from the host organization. Local transport is provided by the host organization.
Training during the activity
On-arrival training and Mid-term training, which is organized by the Austrian National Agency - with other volunteers in Austria.
Participant profile
The volunteer should have interest in media and audiovisual technology. She/he should be motivated for creating own inputs for television, working independently and creatively. Some experience in video production would be fine, but it's not necessary, because FS1 will qualify the volunteer in our "FS1 Academy". After the first time of introduction the volunteer is challenged to create his/her own TV project. Holding a driver's license would be a plus. Important: ONLY APPLICATIONS with CV and motivation letter via e-mail (esc@fs1.tv) are accepted.
