Description
La Cocotte Solidaire is a community-driven organization fostering social inclusion and solidarity through communal cooking and shared meals. As a neighborhood canteen, we provide a welcoming space for people of diverse backgrounds to cook and enjoy meals prepared with organic, locally sourced ingredients. We prepare meals with beneficiaries, serving up to 40 individuals. We seek motivated volunteers from January to July to support our mission of building community, promoting sustainability, and fostering connections. Volunteers will work in an intercultural setting using food as a tool for inclusion. Volunteer missions include: -Organizing community meals with diverse groups -Supporting food waste reduction and composting per SDGs -Participating in workshops on healthy, sustainable food -Aiding local events and initiatives promoting inclusion and environmental awareness. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation, Food, and Transport: • Accommodation: You will be provided with a furnished studio or shared apartment, located close to the association and accessible by public transportation. • Food: Volunteers will receive a monthly allowance to cover grocery shopping. For each day on site, lunches will be provided by the canteen. • Transport: We encourage the use of environmentally friendly transport such as bicycles, which we will provide, or public transport, for which we can arrange discounted passes.
Training during the activity
Training during the Activity: We offer training to ensure volunteers are well-equipped to carry out their missions: • Workshops on popular education and intercultural dialogue, providing the tools to effectively engage with local communities. • Sustainability training, focused on food waste management, sustainable cooking, and environmental awareness. • Intercultural events and gatherings where volunteers can exchange ideas, share experiences, and learn from professionals in social inclusion and solidarity. + Two mandatory training courses organised by the National Agency.
Participant profile
Participant Profile: We are looking for volunteers who are: • Passionate about social inclusion, community work, and sustainability. • Interested in intercultural exchange and using food to foster connections between people. • Motivated, dynamic, and eager to engage with diverse communities. • French-speaking is not required, as we offer language learning opportunities, and you'll learn through practical involvement.
