The power of together

Tracing Neighbourhood

Bildungsnetzwerk Magdeburg gGmbH

Magdeburg, Germany

Description

We are looking for people who are passionate about Europe, intergenerational community and memory work. This ESC Team will support our efforts to trace the history of our center and community in the context of memory work, to situate our center within the local community and spread European ideas, values and opportunities. Thus, we will produce (digital) information walls in several languages, develop historic action bounds, connect with local organisations and people via joint events and collect ideas for joint projects in order to promote an open-minded, connected neighbourhood.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be accommodated in shared rooms with generally four people (towels and sheets are provided) at the European Youth Educational Centre Magdeburg. Since our facilities can also be booked by outside groups, the living arrangements can be subject to change due to bookings by outside groups. The volunteers will be provided with food to prepare meals with the group (unless meals are provided by the organisation) as well as 7€ pocket money per day. Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to fixed rates according to the distance traveled as per the regulations laid down in Erasmus+

Training during the activity

Pedagogically supervised opportunities for international exchange, networking and team building are offered. Participants will have the possibility to benefit from the expertise and experience of the pedagogical team as well.

Participant profile

We are looking for enthusiastic young people who are eager to live and work in a team of 15-20 people from different countries. If you have experience with one of the tasks mentioned before - that's great. But it is even more important that you are willing to learn and try new things. Further, it is preferable if you are open-minded, flexible, have a problem- solving attitude, and can work well in teams. Knowledge of English and German is an asset.
