Description
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with disabilities? Join a life-changing volunteer experience that empowers you to support the inclusive education and social integration of minors with disabilities in Tanzania. This 8-month program invites young adults aged 18-35 to collaborate with IBO Tanzania, an NGO dedicated to improving essential services for children with disabilities in the Iringa District. We’re seeking motivated volunteers to join this inspiring mission! Key responsibilities include: - Conducting research on the needs of children with disabilities in the region; - Creating and implementing educational tools, games, and activities designed to engage and support minors within schools and communities; - Organizing awareness-raising events and community meetings on disability-related topics; - Managing social media, capturing impactful moments through photos and videos; - Providing administrative support at IBO Tanzania’s office.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will be housed in the IBO guesthouse in Iringa and will be autonomous in organizing their own meals. Local staff will provide food. To support your journey, you’ll receive a daily allowance of €32 to cover personal expenses such as flights, Visa fees, and vaccinations. Other costs, such as airport pick up upon arrival & drop off, three daily meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and accommodation will be covered.
Training during the activity
Before embarking on your journey, volunteers will participate in an online training to prepare for the adventure ahead. Upon arrival in Tanzania, a comprehensive in-person training will provide you with everything you need to know about your role, activities, and day-to-day life in the country. Your European support organization, IBO Italia, will be there every step of the way, ensuring you feel confident and supported on your journey. A local course of Swahili will be provided.

We’re seeking an enthusiastic volunteer who is passionate about the mission of our hosting organization and excited to embrace a new culture, cuisine, and environment. Flexibility and a willingness to adapt are key, along with a commitment to following the safety guidelines provided.
