IBO Italia - ODV-ETS
Hälsa International Togo
Lomé, Togo
Description
Are you passionate about empowering vulnerable children and youth? This 8-month volunteer opportunity is open to young people aged 18-35, offering the chance to support the impactful work of Hälsa International Togo. This NGO is dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of Togo's most vulnerable—homeless youth, girls, and children who have faced social injustice. As a volunteer, you’ll work 30-38 hours per week on meaningful projects, including: - Research, data collection, reporting, and leading advocacy campaigns on critical issues like social justice, health, hygiene, and sexual and reproductive health for street-connected children and girls. - Running literacy and non-formal education programs for vulnerable children at a day care center. - Organizing training sessions for Peer Educators and Community Leaders.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will be based in Lomé, where they will be located in a volunteer’s house or host family. Volunteers will receive an allowance of 32€ per day to cover flight tickets, Visa costs, vaccinations and other personal expenses. Other costs, such as airport pick up upon arrival & drop off, three daily meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and accommodation will be covered.
Training during the activity
Before embarking on your journey, volunteers will participate in an online training to prepare for the adventure ahead. Upon arrival in Togo, a comprehensive in-person training will provide you with everything you need to know about your role, activities, and day-to-day life in the country. Your European support organization, IBO Italia, will be there every step of the way, ensuring you feel confident and supported on your journey.
Participant profile
We are looking for a highly motivated volunteer who is interested in the area of work of the hosting NGO and who is willing to adapt to a new culture, new food and environment, and to follow the safety guidelines that they will receive. Advanced knowledge of French and English is required. To know more, apply for the opportunity and get in touch with IBO Italia.
